10 Gluten-Free Instant Pot & Air Fryer Recipes
Guest post by Danielle from Mostly Clean Eats, 10 Gluten-Free Instant Pot & Air Fryer Recipes.
Hi, Danielle here from the Mostly Clean Eats blog! My blog focuses on clean, simple meals that anybody can cook. All my recipes are gluten-free. Lots are Paleo, Whole 30 and Keto friendly! I started my blog because I was autoimmune compromised, and after seeing doctor after I doctor, with no results. I decided to try to heal myself with whole, unprocessed foods. It’s still a work in progress, and I’m not perfect about it, but my motto is to strive for progress, not perfection.
Not all my meals are Paleo, but I always cook with the intention of using whole, minimally processed ingredients. I try my best to avoid refined carbohydrates and always avoid any refined sugars. The idea is to avoid things that cause inflammation and replace them with ingredients that nourish you. For more information all about Paleo, check out my post What is Paleo? If you are autoimmune compromised, I’d love for you to reach out and tell me about your journey.
Today I have my favorite Instant Pot and Air Fryer Recipes from my blog.
What is an Air Fryer?
The air fryer is a convection oven. Why is it different than a regular oven? It’s what is commonly referred to as a convection oven. This means there is a fan that circulates the hot air around the food. The circulating heat allows the food to crisp up perfectly but keeps the inside juicy and moist. You won’t believe how this food resembles the fried food you love, without any oil. However, I do suggest using a little oil to spritz the air fryer, so food doesn’t stick. My biggest recommendation is to get one that is dishwasher friendly. This will save you a ton of time with cleanup. I use the Ninja brand that’s dishwasher safe. Below are my best tips.
Air Fryer Tips
- Always preheat your air fryer, the same way you would preheat your oven. Especially when you are crisping up vegetables. What this does is it allows the food to start cooking immediately on the outside. This ensures the food cooks up perfectly.
- One of the benefits of the air fryer that took me a few months to figure out is that you can pause it, and check on your food. This is great for keeping your food from burning!
- Aluminum foil is your friend! It helps with clean up and smell, especially for fish. It keeps the moisture in so your food won’t dry out!
This is one of the top-rated air fryer recipes on the blog. Super simple, only a few ingredients and absolutely delicious. It’s Keto, Paleo and Whole 30 friendly.
Cooking potatoes was the reason I got the air fryer! So, obviously I had to perfect this recipe. Amazing crispy potatoes, cooked in just a few minutes. This recipe is vegan, Whole 30 & Paleo Friendly!
I am all about all things buffalo. I’m OBSESSED up with this recipe, and if you try it, you will be too! This best part? This recipe is only five ingredients. It’s Whole 30 approved, Paleo and Keto friendly.
Have you jumped on the carrot fry train yet? If not, you need to! They’re the best! Maybe even better than sweet potato fries. That’s coming from a BIG sweet potato fry fan! This recipe was so popular on my blog, I also made Garlic Parsley Carrot Fries, for my Whole 30, Paleo, and Dairy Free viewers.
You what’s even better than Coconut Shrimp? Coconut shrimp cooked in the air fryer, with minimally processed ingredients. It’s as if the air fryer was created to make perfectly cooked shrimp!
What is an Instant Pot?
The Instant Pot is a brand of electric pressure cookers. Pressure cookers work by creating heat under a tight seal, so the temperature is much higher than the boiling point of water, and the steam can’t escape. The steam cooks food much more quickly than traditional stovetop or oven cooking. Most models have multiple modes, so you can saute your meat first to brown it or even use it as a slow cooker.
Instant Pot Tips
- When I first got my Instant Pot I was terrified of all the buttons. It was like a space ship. Make sure you get used to the buttons, especially the quick-release valve.
- Get a silicone roasting rack. It’s amazing to be able to roast your vegetables without them getting soggy.
- If you need to clean your Instant Pot, use my Best Instant Pot Cleaning Method. Ten minutes, non-toxic and chemical-free.
Traditionally, it takes six months to make your own Vanilla extract. Two ingredients and 30 minutes are all you need with this recipe. It’s significantly cheaper than store-bought and honestly tastes so much better! You’ll never go back to the other stuff again. Bonus, you can make it and put it in little bottles and give for holiday gifts! There’s a good reason this is one of my top blog posts of all time!
Spaghetti Squash takes 45 minutes to roast but cooks in just 8 minutes in the Instant Pot. There’s also a video in this post on how to cook a spaghetti squash without a knife. Check it out!
Who doesn’t love a good Taco Tuesday? Even better this Taco meat is LOADED with all tons and tons of hidden veggies.
Another Paleo and Whole 30 Approved meal! If you are looking to spice up your plain chicken this pineapple shredded chicken is the way to go! It’s super easy, and you toss it over rice (or cauliflower rice) and turn it into a bowl.
When I was looking to find applesauce that had no sugar added, I couldn’t find one that I also enjoyed the taste of. This recipe is so simple, not blending or mashing. Just toss all the ingredients in, and in less ten minutes, you have delicious unsweetened applesauce. Whole 30, Paleo and Vegan friendly.
