Copycat Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Syrup

An easy copycat cinnamon dolce syrup that tastes just like it came from your favorite coffee shop!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

  • Add all of the ingredients to a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until everything has combined and comes to a boil. Boils for 30 seconds and then remove from heat. and let it cool. Strain into your bottle of choice using a mesh strainer.
  • Allow the mixture to steep and cool for at least an hour. Remove the cinnamon sticks and strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer. Add to a sealable bottle or jar and store in the refrigerator for several weeks.

Notes

  • This recipe yields about 2 cups of syrup but you could easily double the recipe if you wanted to make more or decide to make some to give as gifts. 
  • You can also use 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon instead of the cinnamon sticks but I find that you get a thick gloopy substance that is fine but not ideal. If you do use ground cinnamon, make sure you strain the liquid with cheesecloth or a coffee filter before adding to your sealable bottle.
