Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces blanco tequila (or tequila of choice)
  • ½ ounce blue curacao
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice (save a wedge for sprinkle rim)
  • ¼ ounce agave syrup
  • 1-2 drops yellow food coloring ( to make it green!)
  • orange and black sprinkles
  • margarita salt

Instructions

  • Combine the purple and black sprinkles with the margarita salt by mixing them together. Place in a rimming bowl or on a small plate. Run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then dip the top into the sugar and salt mix. Add fresh ice to the glass and set aside.
  • Add fresh ice to the cocktail shaker along with tequila, curacau liqueur, agave syrup, and lime juice. Drop 1-2 drops of yellow food coloring into the shaker. Place the top on the shaker and shake for 8-10 seconds until nice and cold.
  • Strain into the prepared glass and enjoy immediatly.

Notes

  • Use blanco tequila for a clear, vibrant green drink; aged tequilas can turn the color murky.
  • Fresh lime juice is essential for bright flavor and true green color.
  • When batching for a party, keep the ice separate until serving to avoid dilution.
  • Rim glasses with black and purple sugar sprinkles for a dramatic Halloween effect.
  • Turn it into a mocktail with limeade, melon or green apple syrup, and sparkling water.
