Print Recipe
- 2 ounces whiskey
- 1½ ounces guava puree or nectar (can sub guava juice)
- ½ ounce simple syrup
- 4 pieces lemon (cut into 1-inch cubes)
- 8 mint leaves
Prepare a cocktail glass with fresh ice and set it aside. Slice the lemon into small cube-like pieces and rinse the mint leaves.
Add the mint and 4 pieces of lemon into a cocktail shaker and muddler together to release the oils and juice.
Add fresh ice to the shaker along with the whiskey, guava nectar, and simple syrup. Shake for 8-12 seconds until nice and cold.
Double strain through a fine-mesh strainer into the prepared cocktail glass. Garnish with a mint sprig or a lemon wedge and enjoy.
- When substituting guava juice for guava nectar in a cocktail, it's important to note that guava juice is less concentrated and thinner in consistency. Adjusting ingredient proportions and potentially adding more sweetener can help maintain the desired balance and ensure a delicious cocktail despite the slight differences in flavor and texture.
