Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces blanco tequila
  • ½ ounce orange liqueur (I used Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao)
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 ounces mango puree
  • ½ ounce agave syrup (can substitute with simple syrup)
  • lime wedge (optional garnish)

Instructions

  • Fill a margarita or cocktail glass with fresh ice and set it aside.
  • Combine tequila, orange liqueur, mango puree, lime juice, and agave syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with fresh ice. Shake vigorously for 10-12 seconds until thoroughly chilled.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into the prepared glass through a fine strainer. Optionally, add a lime wedge for garnish, then savor and enjoy. Cheers!

Notes

    • Always Use Fresh Citrus Juice - Cocktails are always the best when you use freshly squeezed citrus juice, especially in margaritas. Bottled juice often contains added ingredients that alter the drink's flavor significantly
    • Choose Premium Tequila - Choose a high-quality tequila, ideally silver or blanco. The clean, crisp taste complements the fruity mango notes perfectly
    • Salt the Glass Rim - If desired, use margarita salt to add a savory touch and elevate the mango flavor and sweetness
    • Get Creative with Garnishes - Beyond a lime wedge, experiment with herbs like mint or rosemary, or add a zesty twist with lime zest-infused salt or a little spice with a jalapeno.
    • Shake Thoroughly - Ensure the margarita is well-mixed and chilled through by shaking vigorously before straining
    • How to Make Mango Puree: Cut up 1-2 ripe mangoes into pieces that fit into a food processor or blender. Transfer the mango pieces to a food processor or blender, and blend until smooth.
