A delicious Cinnamon Simple Syrup for cocktails, mocktails, desserts, and more!
Print Recipe
- 1 cup water
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
Place the water and cinnamon sticks in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove the cinnamon sticks and add the sugar. Stir to combine and bring the mixture to a boil again. Boil for 2 minutes and then remove from the heat.
Allow the syrup to cool before placing it in a sealable bottle or jar. Store the syrup in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
- Don't toss those cinnamon sticks that are removed after boiling. They can be used for teas, ciders, and more!
- This recipe is a small batch recipe so you won't end up with a huge amount of syrup. However, if you want to make more, this recipe can easily be doubled or tripled.
- You can use ground cinnamon to make a simple syrup, however, not all of the ground cinnamon will be strained out of the mixture. Just substitute the cinnamon sticks with ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon.
