Why I Love This Recipe

A Lucky Charms Green Martini is the perfect cocktail for your St. Patrick's Day celebration! Bring back some childhood memories, like with my Air Fryer Pop Tarts or my No-Bake Snickers, using a favorite cereal to create the gorgeous green color of this drink as well as a fun garnish on the side.

This drink is definitely what I would call a "dessert cocktail" similar to my Gingerbread Martini. It's very sweet because of the addition of pulverized marshmallows and whipped cream. If you want a less sweet version, you can always substitute heavy cream for whipped cream.

One last thing, you do have to separate the marshmallows from the cereal, specifically the green ones. But, it doesn't take very long and you can always sample a few while doing this. I may or may not know from experience 😉.

Ingredients Needed for a Lucky Charms Green Martini

  • Vanilla Vodka - Vanilla vodka is a flavored vodka that is infused with vanilla beans or vanilla extract. It adds a subtle sweetness and smooth vanilla flavor to the martini.
  • Irish Cream (e.g., Bailey's) - Irish cream is a liqueur made with a combination of Irish whiskey, cream, and flavors such as chocolate and vanilla. It adds a creamy and rich texture to the martini, as well as a hint of sweetness.
  • Whipped Cream or Heavy Cream - Whipped cream or heavy cream can be used to enhance the creaminess and texture of the martini. Whipped cream can be used as a topping, while heavy cream can be added to the martini to create a velvety consistency.
  • Pulverized Green Marshmallows from Lucky Charms Cereal - Pulverized green marshmallows are marshmallows from Lucky Charms cereal that have been crushed into a fine powder. They add a unique flavor and vibrant green color to the martini, reminiscent of the iconic Lucky Charms cereal.

How to Make This St. Patrick's Day Cocktail

Add fresh ice to a cocktail shaker along with all of the ingredients. Shake well until nice and cold. Shake a little more to be sure everything is combined and then strain the drink through a fine-mesh strainer into a cocktail glass. Sprinkle the top with additional green marshmallow powder and garnish with a marshmallow from the cereal.

How to Pulverize the Marshmallows and Make Your Cocktail Green

I just like using the word pulverize for some reason but that really is what you need to do. To turn those cute little green marshmallows into a powder, you can use a coffee/nut grinder, a small food processor, or just smash them with something heavy. I use my mini coffee grinder for everything including this cocktail.

If you choose to do this by hand, place the marshmallows in a plastic bag and crush them with something heavy like a rolling pin. You may also want to wrap the bag in a towel or paper towel to keep the bag from breaking while smashing.

Expert Tip

This only works with freeze-dried marshmallows like the ones in cereal, not regular squishy marshmallows.
